Abstract

Republika Srpska is today at a historical turning point. Illegal and illegitimate institutions of Bosnia and Herzegovina, which are not recognized as such in the 1995 Dayton Peace Agreement, have sentenced to prison and threatened to arrest the President of Republika Srpska, Milorad Dodik, and the President of the National Assembly of Republika Srpska, Nenad Stevandić. The Bosniak political and intellectual elite is united in its efforts to destabilize Republika Srpska and bring the project of unitarization and centralization of Bosnia and Herzegovina to an end, in which it still has the support of Western centers of power and the imposed High Representative, Christian Schmidt. The subject of this paper is the contemporary geopolitical allies that the Republika Srpska, apart from Serbia as the homeland of all Serbs, has in Europe and the world. The results of the research show that the political leadership of the Republika Srpska has excellent relations with the Russian Federation and Hungary, good relations with Israel, and growing relations with radical right-wing parties in the countries of the European Union. After explaining first the history, and then the quality of the relations of the Republika Srpska with the mentioned states and political factors, the concluding part of the paper is dedicated to the possible support from abroad that the Republika Srpska could count on in the event of an attempt to abolish it by official Sarajevo. In the research, we used the historical method, the case study method and the comparative method.
