Abstract
The national-revolutionary uprisings of Serbs in the 19th century/The Serbian Revolution/ was a frequent topic of scientific historical researches papers published at Annual of the National Museum of Niš. Due to its importance, both for national and local history, the National Museum of Niš used the several occasions, with relevant scientific institutions, to organize scientific conferences and lectures focused on the topic of the Battle of Čegar and the Skull Tower (Ćele-Kula). The publication of the Annual as the result of acknowledged scientific conferences and lectures helped to feature all the factors led to the defeat of the Serbian army during the battle of Čegar, including the causes/motives for Ottoman to build up/construct of the Skull Tower.
