SERBIAN MILITARY CEMETERY IN BITOLA

Abstract

Even after a century after the WWI, unfortunately, bones of Serbian soldiers dispersed on the battlefields even today in foreign countries, layed often unmarked or in locations that are in poor condition. One of such areas is the Republic of Macedonia, which became the kosturnica of Serbian soldiers without names and surnames, after celebrated struggle, from Kajmakčalan until the final liberation of the country. That is why we decided to give a small contribution to the celebration of this great jubilee, stating the names and surnames of soldiers and officers who were buried at the Serbian military cemetery in Bitola, and marked only by crosses with numbers after its decoration in 1997 and 1998.
