Abstract
The paper presents the requests submitted to the consistory in 1836 and 1837 by the residents of the Kruševac district, concerning the problems they had with marriage or divorce. With the restoration of the Serbian state, church autonomy was also restored, which, with state assistance, struggled to bring order to the everyday lives of the residents of the Principality of Serbia. It was not easy, but teaching Christian virtues and guiding believers on the right path is one of the most important roles of the church. The paper is based on unpublished archival materials from the State Archives of Serbia and relevant literature.
