Abstract
The new prehistoric site Svinjarička Čuka is located on a flat river terrace northeast of Caričin Grad. First excavations by an Austrian-Serbian team demonstrate the potential of the Svinjarička Čuka for further archaeological and scientific investigations in the future. The excavated archaeological remains in two trenches revealed domestic structures dating to the Early to Middle Neolithic and to the Late Bronze Age periods. Preliminary results of the material studies let us assume a definition of the communities as related with the Starčevo horizon in 6th millennium and the Brnjica group in 15th-13th century BC.
