Abstract
The paper presents the history of the Serbian church from the fall of Despotat to the restoration of the Peć Patriarchate. Today there are two opposing views about the fate of the Serbian church after the assembly of 1532. According to one understanding, the Serbian church completely lost its autocomplete, and according to another understanding, the Serbian church remained practically independent. The authors tried to show that there is a third solution - that one part of the church was actually subordinated to the Ohrid Archbishopric, but also that the part that spreaded, approximately in the area of Despotat before the fall of the Ottomans, practically remained independent.
