Abstract

The events described during the Great War, the Toplic Uprising in 1917, came together in the spring of 1917 in Jablanica, Pusta Reka, Toplica and Kosanica. It is a unique event in recent Serbian history. Toplicki uprising forms an integral part of the liberation struggle of the Serbian people for freedom in the 20th century. It was raised in the background of the occupation armies of the Bulgarians and the Austrians and lasted for a month. The ending included southern Serbia. Four detention centers, four battalions and 81 village companies were formed in Jablanica and Pusta Reka. On the 21st of February 1917 in the disaster village of Obilic, a decision was made on Toplicki uprising. The Toplica-Jablanica region was the center of the Ustasha battle. The Resurrectional Army - mostly Serbian peasantry - Chetniks, 12,782 footmen and 364 horsemen - managed to free the vast free territory in a short period of time and liberate larger towns: Kuršumlija, Prokuplje, Blace, Lebane, Medveđa and Bojnik. The hot rebellion in Jablanica and the Pustoj reka was a massive national uprising involving about 5,000 ustanika, women, girls, elderly and adult boys in the uprising struck about 2,000 rebels. In the Toplicki insurrection, the traditions of a free state in the Serbian people, which rose against violence and evil, came to the fore, against the political denationalization carried out by the occupiers of Bulgaria. In Jablanica and Pusta Reka, 80 guerrilla fighting and 35 smaller armed conflicts and diversions on the railway line Nis-Leskovac-Vranje were led. The resignation is part of the liberation struggle of Serbia and the Allies in the Great War.
